Stefanie Adis works with different media, brush, spatula, pen, slider, foil. She pours ink or liquid acrylic paint onto plates and lets the paint dry. Chance always decides. After all, the liquid colors should flow without Adis having a concrete effect. This creates an interplay of coincidence and intention, of structure and chaos, of process and completion. Adis studied art education in Giessen and cultural journalism at the Universitaet der Kuenste in Berlin and had exhibitions in Europe. After working as a freelance journalist she knew that she no longer wanted to just write about her passion, she wanted to pursue it again.
Stefanie Adis' art is intuitive and discursive, combining structure and chaos. This dualistic approach runs through her entire work and also explains the importance of the color blue for Adis. Nothing in the world is one-dimensional and everything starts with the simultaneity of things. Adis works and lives in Giessen.
